I’ve been serving Rowley and surrounding communities for over 30 years. I have a degree in Physical Optics, I’ve operated surfacing labs, finish labs and precision optics labs. I especially like helping those with specialized conditions and prescriptions. I enjoy chatting with customers about motorcycles, music and good food.

I’ve been serving the North Shore for over 30 years as a licensed optician in various locations. Peter trained me for my license back in the 80’s and now I am so happy to be helping folks in my backyard community of Rowley alongside such a caring highly competent group of professionals! Working with our optometrists and their staff feels like family. I especially love helping our customers choose eyewear that they love, and cutting their lenses for the perfect pair of glasses. In my spare time I love working in my home art studio concocting something funky!
Dr. Susan Leader

Dr Leader graduated from Boston College with a nursing degree and worked as an RN until going to The New England College of Optometry from where she graduated Valedictorian in 1989, with her first child and future Optometrist in arm. She has worked on the North shore for over 35 years, and with Agawam Eye Associates since 2010. Here she and the amazing staff have created a dream practice which has a small town feel and values, but with big town technology. Dr Leader sees patients throughout their lives, and gets joy from helping them to see their best.
Dr. Robert Buonfiglio
Leader Eye Associates Optometrist
Dr. Buonfiglio is the third optometrist in his family. He followed his dad Arnold, as well as his aunt Anna, trailblazer woman graduate in 1927. He studied udergrad at Tufts University followed by New England College of Optometry. He’s worked in private practice for over 20 years, an opthalmology practice and an HMO. He joined Leader Eye Associates after his private practice was closed due to fire. His experience ranges from specialty contact lens fittings, Sports performance vision training, enabling athletes better vision in hockey, lacrosse, baseball, basketball, and shooting. In his spare time Dr. Buonfiglio enjoys his lifelong passion of playing drums, playing with his cute mini schnauzer Millie, or as the “Midnight Woodturner” in his workshop.

I’ve been working with Peter so long that neither of knows how long! I’m happy to help you with frame choice, ordering your glasses, repairs, Insurance questions, necessary forms and more. I love all the incredibly nice and really interesting people that we get to meet here. I have a varied background in human and veterinary medicine, so If you want to talk about animals and rescue we can talk all day!
